Resort: Santo Tomas
As you approach the resort of Santo Tomas along the winding country road through scenic rolling hills and green gorges, you are getting a taste of what is to come. This elegant and well-manicured resort is set in one of the most picturesque landscapes on the island. Midway along the southern coast of Menorca just west of Son Bou, its wooded hills, dotted with luxury villas, slope gently down to long white sand beaches. A beautiful paved walkway takes you along the beachfront complete with well designed wooden boardwalks for easy access. This curves around to the excellent beach bar and restaurant that sits on a headland between Sant Adeodat and Sant Tomas beaches affording stunning sea views along the coast for miles in both directions. Relatively quiet and peaceful, it is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday of sun bathing, swimming and site-seeing. There is a strand of shops, well stocked supermarkets, plus restaurants and evening entertainment at the resort’s well appointed hotels. Excellent coastal walks are on offer, particularly to nearby Binigaus bay which offers fantastic natural scenery, and leads on to the fascinating caves at Cova des Coloms. Close by, the pretty little town of Es Mijorn Gran has pavement café’s, an art gallery, a pretty 18th century church, and in late July holds the colourful Festival of St Christopher.
