Resort: San Jaime (Son Bou)
San Jaime is an ideal resort for those wanting a fun-filled Son Bou holiday. Arranged over a large wooded hillside on the south Menorcan coast, the urbanisation of San Jaime Mediterraneo at Son Bou is an impressive collection of luxury Son Bou holiday villas and apartments. The first thing you notice as you pass through the huge archway carved through the natural rock at the resort entrance, is the seemingly endless beach, a feature which is likely to take up most of your time on your Son Bou holidays. At 2,500 metres it is the longest on the island. Some say it is the best beach for a Son Bou holiday - with fine white sand and clear blue water plus a variety of watersports, fun rides and 3 beach bars. It is backed by a protected conservation area, a haven for many types for migratory and aquatic birds - a beautiful addition to the area surrounding your Son Bou villa. You will also see evidence of the earliest inhabitants from the remains of the Iron Age fort at the far corner of the beach and the many Cave houses in the cliffs high above the bay. Just up from here the main commercial centre has a good selection of bars and restaurants, and shops offering everything from souvenirs to fashion to hire cars. A five minute walk will take you to the San Jaime complex and your Son Bou villa, with communal pools, waterchute, children's playgrounds, tennis court and maze. A regular 'fun' train will take you on a splendidly scenic trip around and up to the top of the resort, where you can try and spot your Son Bou villa along the way, before the train winds down to the beach. It can also save you a long walk on a hot day. Evenings and nights you will find a variety of entertainment on offer including live music, discotheques, and the Son Bou Bowl – a brand new 10 Pin Bowling Alley, allowing for hours of fun on Son Bou holidays.
